This is the home of Alexandra Angle and her partner in life and love, Eliot and their wee child, plus some pups. It is on Cape Breton Island. Which in itself is fabbo.
I first saw this house in the January 2010 edition of Australian Country Style ... sigh ... I fell in love. If you don't know this mag it is a seriously good read featuring mostly contemporary country-ish style.
Alexandra has a design business run from Los Angles and I took this off her website.
Alexandra Angle Interior Design is a full service interior design company that strives, in every aspect of our work, to enhance the lives of our clients. Design at its very best should be at once intimate and awe-inspiring. We work towards achieving this by balancing our focus on interior architecture, fine craftsmanship, well-curated furnishings and art. Our clients are fascinating, adventurous people with a keen eye for the finer things. We like to think that our projects are as different and wordly as our clients. To that end, we create environments that are elegant, diverse, multi-generational, authentic, and rarely without a pinch of whimsy.
So let's begin the tour shall we ...

Love the pup, but am loving the area rug more. I am not a wall-to-wall carpet girl, so floor rugs are the deal for me. And this one with it's botanical themes and soft, muted colourways rings my bells. See more of the Fedora Design rug in the first image.
A hand made from driftwood table, made by Eliot. I love the twist on the all white theme here, which still delivers a beachy vibe without being stayed or predicable.
Lots about this home whisperers, not screams, scandi influences to me, including the blonde wood here in the benches and shelving. Love the suspended shelves. Love the hidden dishwasher with a panel matching the cabinetry. Or is that the fridge .....
A yummy, restful bedroom, sleepy bye byes. Featuring Le Klint 332 wall lights.
This seafoam green bathroom, with refinished clawfoot bath and ceramic mod sink works for me. Loving the stool as a place to put towels and the woven cane basket.
Sunset dining anyone .... Looking down the coast line like this over the Gulf of St Lawrence just brings on my appetite for a cool Chardonnay and goats cheese on a wafer thin cracker ...

Ahh, it's that rug again ... yes I am obsessed. I have always adored window seating and love the graduated colour scheme used here. Then there is the winged Foglia chairs from Vittorio Bonacina. I am wondering if these are double hung sash windows ...

Apparently this desk is made of corrugated cardboard ... I love a great bunch of storage boxes and those pistachio and white boxes work for me. Also adoring the white flooring, unsure of material, but pale walls and pale floors are going to be part of our new home, I even have MIC agreeing on that one.

I like the provision of this casual work space. I could just see my wee lads working on their latest artistic endeavour here. And then when you have masses of people over you can just roll the whole thing away or re-purpose it as the buffet table or bar.

Loving the relationship between the kitchen and dining space here. The simple lines of the blonde timber table with the white chairs with woven seats. Now the wee ones are past the pulling boiling pots down on ones head I feel I could manage this layout and enjoy it's inclusiveness. Kids doing homework at the table, me cooking up something yummy for dinner.
